Cinzia Battistel

Cinzia Battistel is a contemporary landscape painter who has exhibited throughout Italy, particularly in Milan. Recent exhibitions include a solo show at Solea resort in Senigallia, Ancona Italy and features at multiple locations with TD gallery. Her work is frequently published on Saatchi Art for inclusion in collections and the catalogue. Cinzia’s paintings remain in collections with several galleries in Milan, Italy including Papier Gallery, Gallerie Affiché, and Milonga.

The most notable works in Cinzia’s portfolio include the Poetic Nature and Golden Ratio series. Mainly, the difference between the series can be found in the application of the paint, Poetic Nature paintings come off as inspired by color field abstract painting while Golden Ratio appears more expressionistic with deeper contrast and sharper forms. Cinzia’s landscape paintings are quite painterly with large streaks of color and brush strokes spread across the surface, usually with bright colors followed with darker tones to accentuate form. The poetic works reflect upon individual contemplation by portraying landscapes with flat planes of color colliding into each other to create a holistic composition. Entropy of Autumn reflects higher saturation and lower contrast than the painting below with deep variations in pinks, whites, and pale turquoise. The painting breaks down the forms of the landscape into planes of asymmetrical shapes and streaks of flat paint reminiscent of color field painting. The Promises of the Moon appears more representational with clearer form, higher contrast, lower saturation and linear brush strokes which defines the landscape. Two vastly different paintings which both offer insights into painterly abstraction in breaking down surfaces to create a fresh contemporary flat design.
